Rhinehart Service Award
The Paul Rhinehart Service Award is given in honor of Paul Rhinehart who for many years served as a race officer at the CYC. His dedication to race management went well beyond his service running races on the water. He worked tirelessly to secure equipment necessary to run quality races; he planned and designed systems for efficient race management; he manufactured and installed equipment to carry out his plans and designs; and he promoted and oversaw the maintenance and repair of the club facilities to maximize the effectiveness of the Club for race management. He worked without seeking recognition for his effort. His work is largely responsible for attracting regional, national and international regattas to the CYC. The Paul Rhinehart Service Award is given to recognize those who exhibit the dedication and spirit of Paul Rhinehart.
The Paul Rhinehart Service Award is awarded at the discretion of the Sailing/Regatta Committee to a person or team of persons for outstanding service to sailing operations at the CYC It need not be awarded every year. It may be awarded posthumously to a person or team of persons who meet the criteria. It is in recognition of an extended period of service rather than one event or one season.
